Welcome to the Research and Information Team's page with links to statistical information on Children and Young People. Children's Services statistical information is compiled by the service on behalf of Services to People.
Key Facts
- Child Population - 0-17 aged child population 11,009 (GROS mid year estimates 2008) which is currently 22% of the population.
- School Population - as at September 2009, the total Clackmannanshire primary school population was 3,806 and the secondary school population was 2,928.
- About 40% of Clackmannanshire school pupils live in the most deprived areas.
- Child Protection - in 2008/09 there were 200 Child Protection referrals in Clackmannanshire, with 60 children placed on the local Child Protection register.
- Looked After Children - as at 31 March 2009, there were 207 Looked After Children in Clackmannanshire and 128 or 62% of Looked After Children were accommodated away from home during 2008/2009.
- Destination of School Leavers - in 2008/09, of the 544 school leavers in Clackmannanshire, 85.7% are in positive destinations (higher education, further education, employment, voluntary work or training). This refects the national figure of 85.6%.
- Exclusions from School - During 2008/09 there were 529 cases of exclusion from Clackmannanshire schools. This is a 2% decrease from 2007/08. Males accounted for 76% of all cases of exclusion.
- Attendance and Absence in Schools - In Clackmannanshire the attendance rate for Primary schools was 95.3% and for Secondary school 91.3% in 2008/09.
