Give Me Cycle Space

Give Me Cycle Space

Clackmannanshire is one of the many Council areas supporting Cycling Scotland's Give Me Cycle Space campaign.

Campaign

The campaign targets drivers, parents, and children, and highlights the size of space drivers should allow bikes on the road - 1.5 metres, the same width as a car.

As well as making other road users aware of young cyclists, the campaign hopes to encourage more children to get on their bikes for a healthier, fitter lifestyle.

Local primary schools taking part

Maps showing 20 mph residential areas around our primary schools are available for information.

Training

Local schools are being encouraged to provide Bikeability Scotland training to help children learn skills on the road, in a real-life cycling environment.

The training teaches children key skills such as manoeuvring, checking for danger and carrying out risk assessments effectively.

Please refer to our Cycle Trainer Assistant web page for more information.
